Form 1099-MISC

Vision provides data for the 1099-MISC work file as detailed in the following tables. You can modify this information on the 1099-MISC tab that displays when you click Edit on the toolbar of the 1099 Form.

Options

Field Description
VOID This check box is usually cleared. Select it on the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor to include void 1099s.
CORRECTED This check box is usually cleared. Select it on the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor to include corrected 1099s.
Exclude this Vendor from 1099-MISC reporting This check box is usually cleared. Select it on the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor to exclude the vendor from 1099-MISC reporting.

Form

Box Field Description
PAYER’S name, full address, and telephone no. The payer’s name, address, ZIP code, and telephone number, from the Form 1099 Processing form
PAYER’S TIN The payer’s identification number, from the Form 1099 Processing form
RECIPIENT’S TIN The vendor’s identification number
RECIPIENT’S name This field displays one of the following, depending on the value that you choose in the Payment Payee field on the Accounts Payable tab of Configuration > Accounting > System AP:
  • The name of the vendor (from the Name field in the Vendor Info Center)
  • Address 1 of the vendor's address (from the Address 1 field in the Vendor Info Center)
Street address (including apt. no.) This field displays data from the vendor's primary address on the General tab of the Vendor Info Center.
City, state, and ZIP code This field displays data from the city, state, and ZIP code in the vendor's primary address on the General tab of the Vendor Info Center.
Account number (see instructions) This field displays the vendor number from the Vendor Info Center record.
2nd TIN not. This check box is usually cleared. Select it on the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
1 Rents This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
2 Royalties This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
3 Other income This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
4 Federal income tax This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
5 Fishing boat proceeds This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
6 Medical and health care This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
7 Payer made direct sales of $5,000 or more This check box is usually cleared. Select it on the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
8 Substitute payments in lieu of dividends This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
9 Crop insurance This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
10 Gross proceeds paid to an attorney This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
11 Fish purchased for resale This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
12 Section 409A deferrals This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
13 FATCA filing requirement This check box, which is related to the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, is usually cleared. Select it on the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
14 Excess golden parachute payments This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
15 Nonqualified deferred compensation This box is usually empty. Enter data through the 1099-MISC tab of the Form 1099 Editor.
16 State tax withheld Enter data for one or two states.
17 State/Payer's state no. Enter data for one or two states.
18 State income Enter data for one or two states.
